Yup, it's official.
I have a card that states "This person has Asperger Syndrome" It arrived yesterday.
Not sure if it makes me happy or not. I mean, I am glad I have an answer, but I don;t want people to feel like I am using it as an excuse to be a prick if I show the card.

In Tassy we all get together in a few groups around the state.
Then mom spotted an article in a magazine she reads that was about Aspergers and did a bit more research.
I don't understand why anyone would fake it, unless they are looking for an excuse to cover the fact that they are just an asshole.
I do agree though that some people do just call themselves it and abuse it.
It's like ADD and ADHD, I know quite a few people with it who genuinely have an attention problem, yet I see kids diagnosed with it who, I would say, were just brats used to getting their own way because their mother is too soft on them. I think people will always fake a condition just to either find an excuse, or to claim benefits (welfare) they don't really need.
I've been half-diagnosed. As in, I've had a diagnosis and I've been given the first draft of the diagnostic report early this year, but I haven't heard from them since. So, as far as the legal part/paperwork and whatnot goes, I'm kind of in limbo.
Apparently it can take up to 3 years to get this shit sorted.
