I honestly don't get how a group called People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals contains so many people who slaughter animals..

They're trying to make the statement that "You would be upset if your dogs and cats were killed [for food/pleasure], so you should be upset over hunting for fish and other animals."
Basically they're targeting the popular animals as a means of emotional and political terrorism.

But people don't just mass murder game. An individual will kill one or two and then eat it. The parallel is weak and it seems more like peta just enjoys the slaughter.
