I randomly felt like making a journal about black metal subgenres and fusion genres. If I forgot something, feel free to comment that, I'll probably add it.
Obviously the first wave, new songs in this style are usually referred to as blackened thrash metal.
This album, and probably this song specifically, is where the genre and its name originate from.
Artist: Venom
Song: Black Metal
Second wave, regular black metal.
Artist: Marduk
Song: Souls For Belial
Symphonic black metal :3 (also second wave, all modern subgenres that I am aware of are)
Artist: Bishop of Hexen
Song: Spiritual Soul Sunset
I could skip gothic black metal, since it's usually quite similar to symphonic black metal, but I won't.
So, gothic "black metal" (extreme metal, but mostly black metal).
Artist: Cradle of Filth
Song: Amor e Morte
Folk black metal.
Artist: Windir
Song: Todeswalzer
Unblack metal (despite being the exact same as regular black metal, just christian)
Artist: Horde
Song: Invert The Inverted Cross
Melodic black metal (with, in this case, death metal influences)
Artist: Apostasy
Song: Supreme Architecture
Atmospheric black metal
Artist: Summoning
Song: Menegroth
Depressing black metal
Artist: Thy Light
Song: A Crawling Worm in a World of Lies
Blackened death metal
Artist: Behemoth
Song: Conquer All
Blackened doom
Artist: Woods of Ypres
Song: The Northern Cold
Blackened crust (not so sure about this one, tbh)
Artist: Occultist
Song: Gamma Tomb
That's it, for now. If I can think of more, I might add it.
