Furs appreciate? Nope.jpg
People waiting for badges from Confuzzled are still being worked on between puppy, job and home life. No worries there, just there's a reason why all my commissions are closed.
In the spare time I do manage to get to myself, mostly spent on games or Second Life, there are still hecklers around :/
One of them (who hasn't spoken to me, or noted me in at least 5 years) decides to cause a fuss on SL about how I haven't drawn them their badge from 5 years ago... I don't even remember their name, I try and be polite but I'm just so pent up with anger about it. I explain I don't remember the name/fursona as it was too long ago.
If their badge was that important, why'd they leave it all this time?
They haven't even messaged me since (I've not changed any accounts)
I've never said I was a business. Drawing for me is a hobby and I have a life outside this fandom whether some choose to believe it or not.
Appreciation? Nope.
..... On a similar note, money doesn't fall off trees - so when a friend practically GIVES YOU their fursuit as a gift of good will (on the understanding that it's borrowed and will have to be given back); Would you cut holes in it and fuck around?? Literally??
Apparently our so-called "Best friend" took us as fools. He used and abused our friendship, and soiled shared property.
We've known him for 7 years, we had a lovely time together for a lot of the time, was even thinking of making them best man at our wedding... All gone to waste.
Appreciation?? Where is it? Certainly not in this fandom.
I've had enough.

That's completely ignorant, seeing as how you have tons of fans who are appreciative of your art.
I understand it's a rant...yes...you were wronged and you're pissed.
But what did the rest of us good people who appreciate what we get do to deserve to be lumped in with the few bad eggs (2 examples you gave)?
I for one have never went 5 years without getting art then trashed the artist for it.
Nor have I borrowed a fursuit and destroyed it when it wasn't mine.
Just saying.
Where is the appreciation in this fandom?
Everywhere...you are just focusing on the bad.
It's the artist that set the price, not the customer, i know of a few that charge no less that 500 euro just for starting on the pic, if you want several characters or background, it costs extra. Amazingly, those slots sell a lot, personally i would never be able tos afford that
Being a furry artist or a furry just means you have a broader audience to broadcast your play.
Of all the artists i can think of, only an extremely few show any signs of loyalty to their fans, but i could be wrong of course. Usually, the more expensive ones are less loyal because they are usually more poppular and don't need to stay loyal as long as their art are sought after for a few hundreds per piece. And consequently, usually the cheaper artists are more loyal becuase in my oppinion, they have not been corrupted by greed
I have seen plenty of professional artist who sell their art for a few hundred dollars yes, but they also make a living off it.
Most don't even take commissions, they sell pre-done prints.
There is a difference between a hobby artist that sells their art to fans and a professional.
This isn't a /ragequit kind of thing, it just annoyed me that these things happened when I believe I should trust more.
I know I don't check every picture either x3 busy silly lives :P
Now, after a few artists acting similar to this, i simply don't ask anymore, but rather develop angry feelings and grow distrustful of the artist in question.
I don't know the background of your story but is it possible it can be something like this?
I feel artists can be very passionate about what they create, how much time spent has been from the heart to make the piece the best of their ability...
I know I have a couple of commissions from years ago, but things get lost in translation (the person changed account/they haven't been online or been able to contact/forgotten/not paid but ask anyway etc.)
I'd rather people ask about their commission than just leave it, a service is a service and an artist might have a few to serve.
But yes, i agree with you, they should have said something before it took too long
There's a lot of drama and hate in this fandom, it's true, but there is also so much love! Some of my very best friends are the furriest furs in existance, and they're REALLY good people too!
So while I don't agree with the way WhitePhoxx said what they did, there is quite a bit of truth in it.
I mean, in what other fandom do random con goers just GIVE stuff to you? I can't count the amount of free art and plushies and balloon creations I have recieved simply by attending a furry convention!
I understand your frustration and anger all too well. We've all had bad experiences with 'drama furs' as I like to call them. Be it begging/demanding free art, or those very rare few who actually steal others art and characters to use for their own neffarious ends...and everything in between.
There's a lot of bad apples in the barrel, but there are some shiny solid gold ones too!
*Hugs* Feel better hon.
But she isn't the first artist I have seen lump all her fans into one category when upset.
Was merely making a point ^.^ But i love your wording better.
Definitely the shiney apples quote.
Also: Diplomacy is one of my strong points! Me and Kathrine Janeway!
And I'm guilty of doing the same thing myself, shunting everyone and everything into the same box when I'm pissed off or upset about something.
"Those people who never care if they irritate you by just *insert what annoying thing they did here*"
But I understand it is a rage thing. I just wanted her to know that she has dedicated fans here who appreciate her amazing art and wish she would post more of it.
heh.
