No need to worry. Even during storms, you really can't hear them inside the hotel and the convention center. And thunderstorms like this move pretty quick, so even if they do bother you, they're over in a half-hour at most.

You'll be fine. And if you're really worried, use earplugs. You can get them at most drugstores and I wear them whenever I stay in a hotel, whether part of a convention or not. ^__^
