Welp...

Trying not to shatter.. I need money for groceries again this month. Don't even know why i'm trying this anymore, BUT. I need help. I need this whole art career to kick in because I need to start my life. My bf is job searching and I don't even have clothes proper enough to get hired so something has to change. I own one pair of pants and some tank tops. -sigh.- please spread the word. If you could help it'd mean the world to me.
I don't have any money to help you out with for I'm kinda in the same situation as you, but I can offer my support by making a journal to spread the word! \0/ Never give up! *huggles*
Have you contacted the local food kitchens, food banks, or other related organizations available in your area?
Do you have a goodwill or other thrift shop in a reasonable distance from where you live where you can shop cheaply for an interview outfit (or just clothing in general)?
Sorry for being long but hopefully people can understand now how f'd up my life is. :/
- You know you can file for food stamps for yourself. You can be a household of one so all you need to do is fill out the paperwork online or at the SSI office.
- At least you have government money/disability to live off of. I know it it not much money, but it should be enough to pay the basic month to month bills of life in theory.
- You do have a car to borrow sometimes which is good when you do have it. This is helpful since unless you live in an area where you have public transportation it limits you options on what you can do and when.
- I do not understand why you cannot have that job anymore at the homeless prevention center. I wonder if it is an age thing or something else entirely?
- Well, at least someone can use the food and clothing even if it is not in ideal condition. Most shelf stable foods like canned goods are still safe to eat even after 2 years after the expiration date. I am sorry to hear that it is not much.
- How old is your bf?
- That seams rather backwards thinking, of your bf's mother. Even if your bf fills out job applications online, and is e-mailed or called in for an interview, to go to the interview a reliable ride is needed to arrive early for the interview. Also, lets say your bf passes the interview with flying colors and the job wants your bf to work the next day. Without reliable transportation and knowing how to drive that drastically limits job options to places in walking distance. Where I live, without a drivers license and having a reliable vehicle it limits the ability to get and keep a job all the way down to zero. So, by denying a car until a job is found, your bf mother is doing more to harm that help your bf find and keep a job.
I don't even want to get too much into how messed up his mom is but he's 18 i'm lucky he got to move in with me.
In my state, Nebraska.. You aren't an adult fully until 19.
But thank you and your fiance for trying to help me. c:
I'll have to talk to my mother about it.
That is perfectly understandable. Oh, believe me, I am no stranger to how messed up life can be sometimes. *nods* i hope he appreciates what you are trying to do to help him. I am a bit confused why 19 is the magic number for adulthood but maybe I am just missing a tiny piece of the puzzle. You are most kindly welcome. I hope you do talk to your mother about it and it goes well.
Apply for EBT for herself separate of her mother. She'll have to have someone sign off that she needs the help and it's better if it's not a family member [her bf would be good for this]. She has to say she eats her meals separately and unless they all sit down at a table and eat together then she isn't lying. Also oweing money for rent and other bills [in her name] would help but is not needed. She should be looking for work but unable to find it. Have a bank statement with little to no money on it and go in to the meeting with hardly any to no cash. Oh, she could be like me and supposedly paying rent, but with her mom on food stamps as well that could hurt her moms food stamps so they'll need to talk to each other first.
