Damned if you do, and damned if you dont. I know everyone has had one of those situations (and if you havent, tell me how the hell you got out of reality!)
Work last night (Saturday night) was bothersome. Noise complaint about people being loud, the usual, except these loud people were 20+ American and Canadian legion guests. Did my job, asked them to tone it down and all. Did my follow up on the complaint, STILL complained about the noise. So being the server I am, I try to remedy the situation. Now I have legion guests mad im asking them to be even more quiet, and another guest that is mad cuz they can't sleep. Third warning gives me the right to phone the police to have the "rowdy company" removed......was it mentioned these legion guests marched WITH THE POLICE THAT DAY? Woops, forgot that part.
Now, break it down. 20+ people never come back to this hotel after coming here for 32 years in a row (33 this year), and all write up their own complaints to head office. Or, 1 guest is very mad, writes his own complaint, gets a refund, and never comes here again......I wonder how mad my manager will be when I talk to her when she comes in at around 8. I hope im not in too much trouble T^T
Customer service people, try to avoid it, or at least make sure people are wearing steeltoes, because your always stepping on somebody's toes no matter what you do to make people happy.

You were in the right and they weren't the legion guests were being rowdy and disrespectful to other tenets in the hotel and you were required to enforce policies.

Shockingly, my manager told me it was a good thing I wasnt staying here, she said "it's not a job for some one yoir age", she was glad I was leaving cuz she said there were so many better jobs out there.

Awwww...well, it's nice that your manager was actually thinking about "you"--and not thinking about an "employee".

Mhmm, that's why I like my manager more then my boss. Her name is Linda, and I always call her Linda. But my boss, I have yet to call him by his first name, I always call him sir, but he always tries to correct me to call him by his first name. Been working here a year, I have yet to call him his name, it's always sir, because he isn't as close or personal as my manager, lol. He gets annoyed with me for calling him sir, even though technically it's respectful way of calling some one without using the guy's name.

That's true. And amongst my co-workers, though I consider myself friends with one of the guys...I still call him by his real name instead of the nickname everyone else calls him by. It feels weird.
