People are tracing/copying my artwork!

TielDoes this mean I am a real artist now?!?!?!?! :D I knew I had at least two people who have copied the odd piece but I've stumbled onto a gallery and been linked to another who are blatantly tracing my work quite regularly X3 this isn't just a "that character looks like mine" it's like that pic.. and that pic, that pic too.. that.. isn't.. oh wait I see it there are certain little flaws in my work which I leave in because I love them which are even being copied x3
I'm not naming names because, well honestly..not too bothered and that is a huggggeeee EGO and a confidence booster! :D to know some of the work I've done that I was never that pleased with has been worthy of replication :>
But the fact it looks like they've been traced rather then just referenced does bother me a bit since they're being sold as commissions :/ that's just not right :P essentially getting paid for someone else's effort :P
So yay! I think I can officially consider myself a fully fledged artist now :D

Maybe the act of tracing will teach them better techniques? I use to trace artists works (although i never uploaded anything, purely for my own scholaring xD) Helped me a ton. I support this much as learning at least.
Not that theirs much we can do as the internet is like the beast with a thousand heads, hydra, legion. Cut off one troll, and lo' two more shall appear!
I never went in for tracing I've always hated the though of copying someone elses work. I think I wasted alot of effort when I joined the fandom because my pics started to look like other artists. I would stop and try it another way.. then see it similar to another artist but gah! I know now there are just so many artists in the world i'm bound to look like someone or another x3

Now of course, context matters. Some new artist trying to figure out how to draw? Flattery! But maybe send a note saying that if they trace or copy that they should give acknowledgment. Be gentle.
Is someone selling commissions based on traces or copies of your work? Best to go in guns blazing there. Shut that shit down, that ain't cool.
