Tach is short for Tachyon. The light means the drive is ready for data storage. :)

Ah, that is totally awesome. It's fun to think that I can get a computer with thousands of times the HD space and tens of thousands of times more RAM (and a much faster processor, and way cooler peripherals) for less than it cost. And at a fraction of the weight and volume!

But, yo, in relativistic physics, you could just move really close to the speed of light, and consequently become extremely massive and create a massive distortion of space in time, culminating in a black hole. Can't do that in non-relativistic physics, now can you? ;D

I'm not sure being crushed at the atomic level is something I'd want to happen. oO

Well, if you get lucky, it might be that the singularity of the black hole is escapable and you'll end up in a different spacetime.

But, yeah. You'd probably still die. But what better way to go than be destroyed at every level, being converted into an object of seemingly infinite density, and potentially ending up in a different reality?

Maybe dying in the Bahamas, but it's close.

1. Around 1996. Windows was pissing me off and I wasn't fond of MacOS, so I thought I'd try something new. I had played a bit with RedHat 3, but ended up running a Slackware machine. Lots of Netrek. :)
2. Always, I guess. I've had an attraction to larger bellies for as long as I can remember. :3
