I really can't tell you how happy I am that this character is going to the big screen in a quirky over-the-topic action-comedy space adventure. Not just because he's a raccoon, but he could be an absolutely brilliant character if played right. The whole cast of the Guardians of the Galaxy are brilliant, and to see them get highlighted in a big Marvel summer film is completely beyond my expectations.
And I'm just letting myself get really hopefully that they will animate Rocket in a nifty way. He really is an awesome raccooner.

The movie looks great, but I'm a bit sad they are departing from the concept of response team for cosmic threats featured during DnA's epoic run, and going instead with the "space mercenaries" concept from the current run (Which so far, and hopefully unlike the movie, has been awful).
I am however glad they are keeping the designs closer to DnA's than Bendis', with Star Lord gasmask-like helmet and Gamora's non Mass Effect-esque costume.
The raccoon looks awesome in this though. Thanks for showing us.
See, that's exactly the kind of movie Hollywood needs right now to break them out of their current crisis. A Raccoon hast to be a hit.
