Commissions: Media/Traditional Rant
General
Well, if my cries for commissions is on blind eyes, I'm doing traditional arts again (Which I draw better.) They're going to be the same price as my media ones. Maybe a little less, depending on the complexity or the simplicity. I haven't had any PAID commissions in a very long time, so I have no real motivation to stay on here much longer. I have sketches I owe people, but I haven't been able to get to them because of lack of motivation of personal, financial and other reasons.
I might do a donation stream to possibly get a scanner and a laminater. I got a laminater last night but it doesn't turn on. So I have to return it and save up for the more expensive one. I was thinking of possibly having a pre-order sale to help out, but no response. I tried raffles, and everything I can think of. I really would love to post my traditional art here without a scanner, but the camera on my phone SUCKS.
I haven't had commissions for a long time and I don't know why. Not harshing on anyone, but I see people who have shakier lines get commissions more then I do. But if trying to get a scanner/laminator falls through I'm deleting my account and moving on. I'll miss your guy's art and all the people I met here, but I'm tired of being disappointed. I really do have reasons for why I'm doing these commissions other then for fun stuff. *shrugs*

It's summer and business is slow
I realized also most people don't pay attention to journals UNLESS they're like stalking the artist to open cause they really WANT something from them
I'd try making a sample image announcing commissions few words... lots of pictures and your price
That might work better! Just approach it differently :) *hugs*
Of course, summer is when a lot of conventions are going on, people are away, or have vacations, etc., so there's not quite as much demand for art. Maybe try expanding onto a few other sites, too-- Weasyl is incredibly slow and inactive for my taste, but a good site nonetheless, SoFurry, Inkbunny, and deviantART are good places to put up some stuff to advertise yourself :3
I've been on dA for four years, this year I switched to a new account, though. I'm going on my 3rd year with FA now. x3
