News and Updates
Hey all.
If you've been wondering where I've been the last few months (sweet jesus, its been months already?) hopefully now I can fill you all in. If you care enough to read thus far.
First off: yes, I'm still working on commissions, but I'll cover that more later, so suffice to say I will be posting new work as I can get it done.
The big news goes like this:
1. I have dropped out of college. This was a big decision for me, and was mulled over after several weeks. Basically what happened is I was denied candidacy to my colleges art program, which was a requirement for me to graduate with the degree I wanted in Graphic Design. The art program at my college was never very good, and due to class cancellations and a number of class credit hours being cancelled, I wasn't able to graduate.
After spending four years at a college, jumping through hoops for professors who didn't help, doing classes I was forced into, and then being denied candidacy outright (which is another whole ball of wax I refuse to get into.) I decided to simply up and leave. I may return to finish my degree later, and maybe I won't; at this point its all the same to me.
2. I now live in Apopka FL. The move came with the decision to leave college. Why Florida, you ask? Well, there is absolutely tons of work available here, art related or otherwise, and I'm twenty minuets from Orlando, which has everything. Coming from a small town like Boone, NC, this is a big change, and I'm reasonable sure I can do better here then I could anywhere else. Even without a degree, I am fully trained digital and classical artist, so theres bound to be something here for me to do.
3. My laptop, which held all of my work and a majority of the files I used for school as well as my personal files, has finally died a horrific death. This was in the works for a long time, as my pervious journals might attest, as technology tends to die on me at the WORST POSSIBLE TIME. While before I was always able to salvage a majority of my personal files, this time, everything is utterly wiped clean from my harddrive.
Now, I know what some of you are thinking; why didn't I have a backup? I did, and in the process of trying to restore that data, my external drive was wiped as well. Without original files to establish any kind of hold on either hard drive, I am left with diddly.
Now, if you can imagine losing everything you have ever worked on for the past five years of your life suddenly up and disappearing like so much smoke, you come close to just how distraught these last few months have been for me.
Whoo, that was a lot.
TLDR; Life sucks, I lost a lot, and I'm only just now trying to pick up the pieces.
What this means for you folks is two things; yes, I will still be working on stuff, and now that I have a new laptop and hardware to work with here in the Sunshine State, I'll be getting back to work again. Thats the good news. Secondly, a lot of my older files I was working on are now gone, meaning I'll have to start from scratch. That sucks for a few of you, but hopefully I'll get it all sorted out.
Till then, best of luck in whatever you need luck in.

That being said, it's nice to see you're still around. I know it's not much, but I wish you much better luck in the future, and I hope things take a upwards turn for you. You've proven to be a kind and interesting individual, and...well, I just hope things work out for you in the end.
Good luck. ^_^
