that is probably the intention. I think the guy wants to make another DA or SHEEZY. There is definitely money to be made if he can make a good version of DA... I mean, there are so many people on DA that if you log on, you already missed 30 new files that were just submitted on the main page. There are WAAAY too many people.

If it IS a "return" of AP, by the same person at that, there is no way in hell I'm gonna THINK to join it. I guess the only thing there is to do is see what happens.

He said it was originally just an experiment and he was learning to design new and better ways to program a site database as such... and then decided after 2 years it wasn't worth all the work it was becoming to maintain. So I dunno. I mean, good for him for wanting to try to go on to other things and push himself, but it seems like there could have been ways to make the site pretty much maintain itself... Hire a small staff of volunteers? I dunno.

I never was a part of FAP, but when I join an art gallery, experiment or not, unless it's stated "I will shut down on such and such a date" or it's intended to shut down (i.e. a test to see how one needs to hire mods or how a server handles something", I expect to joint for a long time, and to only lose a gallery for reasons other than "I got bored" or something like that. I was too lazy to bother with FAP but unless AP holds out longer than that, where lack of money or critical hardware failure wipes AP away, maybe I'll join it.

He could have hired a group of volunteers or something, though. Who knows.
