Personally, I'll be honest. I'm too shy to tell artists other than a select few how much I enjoy their art. It's not that you as a person are intimidating, it's the fact that I'm a shy little wolf that is kind of awkward at making new friends lol

lol That's what everyone is telling me. My mate is more terrified than I am at this point, but he has zero experience dealing with children. I've got quite a bit, but I also know that every baby is different.

I will probably be taking you up on that offer! I'm just trying to get through the last trimester now (dealing with the swelling and therefore numbness in my extremities is the worst!) and hopefully everything will go through a-okay!

My pregnancy was pretty easy. 8 hours of hard labor which flew by for some reason haha. [glad it did!!]

My mom was in labor with me for 14 hours... My sister was 2 xD

I feel this so hard.

Though the last few weeks I've just been jumping on artists and attempting to make friends. Sadly I'm a bit Psycho and it tends to scare people off >3

But I'm also not opposed to people contacting me! In fact, I met a girl at Anime Revolution who I'm now personally tutoring art for :D

Alot of artist I find can be snobs but sometimes it's for a good reason, you just gotta give it a try! The worst they can do is ignore you and then you know they weren't worth wasting time on.

You're right, sometimes it is for a good reason.. Most good artists get approached by kind people mistaking them for ass kissers for free art.. :/ but come on! Give them a chance..! Be nice and say hello at the very least. :3

I don't usually say hello to many people, mainly because of the luck I've had with folks and their attitudes when I try to commission them. You seem very sweet and open... very friendly, so props! It's that sort of thing that'll make a loyal customer out of people. (Along with the talent you so obviously have.)

Its the truth though. It's very easy to be stand-offish and get full of yourself. It takes a real person to step back and be kind no matter WHO it is that's talking to you. Personally, I'm a bear when I'm drawing. DON'T INTERRUPT ME. >.< Just like with my books. I'm a grouch then. Any other time, do what you will.



You're a good person, nice, and talented. Don't underestimate the draw just the personality will have for you.

I don't usually communicate with the good, popular artists because I want to direct my attention toward artists that don't get the attention they deserve. The under-served are also more likely to reply to my comments in their submissions/journals and that always gets me excited, I love replies!

Every once in a while though I see the more noticed artists reply enthusiastically to pretty much everyone, and I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised that they will take the time to reply to so many of the "little people". Makes me want to keep tabs on them.

even the 'little guys'! :D Everyone needs to start somewhere.. Even I wasn't a very good artist at one point! :3

in what few instances I even had a chance to talk to artists it wasn't easy, still isnt. But you said it in a earlier comment, too many think they're just getting some ass-kissers looking for art, or got burned one too many times by trolls and the like that they just barely talk enough to anyone, let alone those that they get money from. For some there's certain stigmas attached. After-all most claim its the artists that make this all worthwhile, some claim its those who buy the art. In the end it mostly comes down to, artists are looked up to, everyone else is beneath their notice (or perceived thereof).

For those reading, this may not apply to everyone.

This is true. But at the same time, the general rule of customer service [in my mind] must stand. Treat every customer like you would your first. Be nice [or as nice as you can be] even if they're nasty. If their behaviour warrants being a bit nastier, then due so with professionalism.

There's no need to instantly be rude to the people who just want to say hi. If they ask for free artwork, simply tell them no. but be nice.. I feel that everyone deserves a chance.

If you have skype, i'd be cool with talking some time.
