oddly enough i have twi furry pictures hanging in my room and my suit hanging in my closet but its inconspicuous and dont want some of my family seeing it all xD
Until recently I would just keep most of my older “retired” badges somewhere at home, and only keep a few with me in a bag when traveling.
I just put together a scrapbook with all of them, along with con badges, room keys, and other art and tchotchkes so I can bring them along to cons or show guests at home. They're still retired in that I don't wear them, but I still like to show them off now and then.
The badges I do wear, I try to keep close to my face to keep them visible, so they're clipped to my shirt collar or a lanyard instead of closer to my waist.
To protect them I make sure to keep laminated anything that is original art on paper or similar. Some people go as far as making a printed copy if original badge art and wearing that so the original is safely stored. That is sensible, but I don't think it's necessary for things like plastic badges (con badges), ear tags, etc. Only original art if anything.
All mine are either in my furry bag or my furry box...I had them hanging from the lanyards I've had at AC in past year at home, but now I'm at school and haven't gotten them out yet.
before the move I had them hanging up either by billboard or i took two thumbtacks and stuck them on my wall using a leveler, then tied some fishing line really tight around both and strung my badges them to display them. now they're in a box but ill probably put them up the same way when i move to a more temp. place, its nice b/c you can just unhook them and go.

"Badges ... we don't need no stinking badges!"
