I'm a big fan of the pet auctions... but there's always a bunch of trouble that comes with them (for the organizers anyway). So that's probably a bad idea.

For me personally, I've never been a fan of an entire night dedicated to "themed" dance of whatever the convention theme may be. This year it might work cause it's 80's (might), but it still shouldn't be an entire night dedicated to it, especially for a 3 day convention. Make it just a segment of one night instead.

I know you busted your ass to highlight all of the extra stuff for fursuiters to do at BLFC that they dont have immediate access to at other conventions. Go Karts, 24 hour bowling, Mini golf, driving range... Its all great stuff. No other convention out there can boast things things. Folks have always wondered what it would be like to have a convention geared towards Fursuits. I know that space is at a premium but if there was a dedicated area for this... instead of one block of fursuit games, individual games would be scheduled throughout the day like panels. 11am - Beachball Volleyball 1pm - Fursuit Twister 3pm - Obstacle Course - 5pm - team based relay races. With how great the elevators are, the loads of things to do, I think people would 'get' that its a damn great con to suit at. Hell ya may swing a few more attendees with that marketing gimmick... as long as there is a dedicated fursuit staff to pull it off.

Sorry to say but opening and closing ceremonies were dull. One guy, on stage, reading off cards.... dull. After Opening Ceremonies, I was no more pumped up for the con than I was before it. Thats what ceremonies are for... pump people up! Otherwise, its the opening dulldrum information desk. Do something with a theme! Highlight staff members. Point key staff out to people so attendees know who these people are... hell, gives em a second of limelight too. Let them explain what cool panels are coming up or how attendees can best enjoy that staff member's area. If they get too long winded, yank their ass off the stage.

For panels, we always closed the door to the room because the music/people made it too loud to hear the panelist. Im going to be one of THOSE people, but a sign out front saying "Panel in session, please come in" may help. People are too damn shy and timid to open a closed door and look in without some kind of 'permission' to.

The charity auction was dull. Have a live auction man! I mean seriously... I threw a cheetah in from the gift shop that was $80 and nobody bid on it. 800 furries and nobody wanted a Cheetah? I bet in a live setting that cat would have gone home with somebody. Impulse buy and crap. Again, yah, a dedicated sucker (I mean staff) is necessary for this and time and desire and... I've staffed enough cons to know that getting someone you trust to see the job through is a pain in the ass... people can dream.
