EF journal 3
Hello dear readers,
I will continue the EF report where I left it: As said, I was taking part in a lecture about the Oculus Rift, and at last I even had the chance to try it on. I didn't find it so spectacular, though, the 3d effect was weak, and the view was blurred. Maybe the device was not correctly adjusted to my eyes, since I wear glasses.
Next, I visited the Dealers' Den. Sadly, there was not much bear art to find. And I am angry about myself that I didn't purchase any of the lovely smelling soaps there, because right now I am lacking one.
In the afternoon, there was the famous furry parade. I missed the start, but waited till they all came back with aching feet (the walk had a length of about 2 km / 1.2 miles).
One could also take a picture of oneself with some real raccoons that the animal welfare organisation for which the charity was hold had brought along. I had a look at the cute animals, but didn't register for a photo because I don't support causing them so much stress, yet I donated for it.
The second day ended with a dance contest (it is worth to mention that a bear took part in it,
schwarzmoor, with an impressive performance) and the Fursuit Game Show. The latter was a bit chaotic and not always fair to the participants, but nevertheless much fun.
On the third day there finally was the Game Developers meeting. I had thought it was a more public event, therefore I had commissioned
bloodhoundomega to draw a signboard for me, but in the end almost everyone was from the development scene. Which was then an advantage in fact, since I could explain extensively how it worked under the hood, and I had several interesting conversations and got some tips about how to go on. I would have liked to go to "How to start drawing furry art" too which took place in parallel, but well, this event was definitely awesome.
The Pawpet show began with a long delay and had several breaks in between when the puppeteers changed the scene, but otherwise it was superb, the hosts really put lots and lots of effort in it, the story was thrilling, and I actually believed they took native hawaiian music, it sounded gorgeous.
The Big Blue Dance was set up at midnight, yet I was quite disappointed about the music. At least during the first two hours, it was mostly just pounding and a bit of dubstep, I cannot dance to that, I need some nice melodies to get myself into the right mood. Furthermore the dancefloor was too crowded, and you could hardly dance offside because of the many photographers orbiting around it.

On Sunday, it was time for me to move homeward. And actually, the journey started well. The problems arised when the conductor said my ticket was invalid and I didn't know why because my mother had bought them. At least I was allowed to travel on. Later, the train staff had to call two times for a doctor because people had reportedly collapsed, and finally there was the announcement that this train was overcrowded (I couldn't attest that, for it looked normal where I was seated) and would not drive on. People were asked to change to another train. Well, I thought, if now everyone is changing trains, I should better hurry to catch a seat. And bound as it was to happen, I forgot my suitcase. I think it was only five minutes until I was back for having noticed my loss, but the train that was said to stay was already gone. Seems like I must be really dumb for forgetting my stuff and that I have given away my seat although I could have remained seated and avoided the loss of my suitcase. >:o(
In conclusion, I'm finally home, tired and still without suitcase though I have immediately handed in a note, but at least the ache in my throat has gone away and I feel healthy.
What an adventure! I doubt I will go to EF again, but will try to attend smaller conventions in the future.
Warm humming to all of you,

I didn't realize you were from Germany, until I read a message from you, to me.It sounds as if you had a nice time. That's great.
