Always worth a try. *shrug* (And I have to admit, I don't get the notion of just changing them to people and publishing it that way -- because if you can do that without changing the story, then they should have been human in the first place.)

Maybe there'll be just a general furry horror antho soon that doesn't have any other themes, and it would at least sell there... Sucks that there aren't any general furry markets left anymore except for themed anthologies (well, except for New Fables, but since they're looking for more of a literary style, that's almost a theme in itself).

I am considering a rewrite. Same theme, same basic sequence of events, but with humans. The story is written with non-morphic animals, so it would not be a simple conversion. It would be a new story. But I'm also holding out hope something will open up that will take it in its original form.

new Fables never struck me as "literary" and I hope they never become a literary journal. I can't stand that stuff.

Literary is the term they use, if I recall correctly, but I haven't read the last couple issues, so maybe things have changed. *shrug*

I saw that description on Duotrope and it made me nervous. Literary. Yuck. i always avoid any publication with that word in its description. I have not read the newest issue either. Maybe I should, just to see.
