Though if you think about it every child no matter if its a gay couple or lesbian couple there has to be a father somewhere. Because without our special ingredient for life a womans womb is nothing more than an egg factory. Sorry if that sounds harsh but its the only way I could think to phrase it.
I heard they can make sperm cells out of skin now, even if it's a woman's skin. Men's are overrated? Not at all. I still like my sperm straight from the source... ...but those skin-sperm cells are good news for rich lesbians.
I've heard about this a few years back, it was something they discovered while they were researching a cure/medication for impotance.
It would allow two women to have a child together that was genetically theirs, but as far I know it had been banned for further research (I guess because the men of science felt threatened/obsolete? :p )
I only heard rumors about it. It's too silly of an idea to let them go through with it. The old way works so far...as always. And if the old way does not work for someone...Evolution. It's a cruel thing.
Well as long as they can make sure the procedure is safe and doesn't cause genetic damage in the long run, which is probably why they abandoned it or why it's taking so long to become an actual thing...I wouldn't have much of a propblem with it if two women want to have a child that's theirs and not adopted or from a sperm bank.
Frankly, I'd be far more concerned if the stuff from that Schwarzenegger movie, Junior, would become a science fact :p
I don't know about sperm cells, but I do know there's a technique that makes stem cells out of skin cells, which can be used for tissue transplants and organ repair with no chance of rejection. Sperm cells have only half of a person's genetic material, so I don't know if stem cells can be made into sperm cells, but it might be possible to make testicular tissue which could produce sperm cells, I suppose.
I was just mentioning this, and not really expected a full science group jump onto this. Also making sperm cells from skin...But, why? There is a gazillion easier sources to get it anyway...
I think I would have put it differently but I get your point. For any child there must be a mother and a father to conceive it. Yet afterwards they might end up with two mothers or two fathers, plus one of the others. Which is still a little awkward but....
Ohhh....yes.That is indeed the case. Plenty of crazy to be found there. I'm tempted to take it as a reading project every so often, but the sheer volume of it stops me cold every time I start looking at it closer. I remember the sunday school stuff and all that but I've never actually just read the thing.
