i like the idea. the concept is not entirely new. the tech wasn't there yet, back when i first heard about such things, to mass produce a consumer product that would be light, comfortable and affordable. i'm glad that it is. i'm not interested in what most games are about, though i do love the ever more creative and sometimes down right beautiful environments in some of them.

but i do love the idea of creating my own 3d worlds, and look forward to the prospect of some day everyone being able to not only create but share back and forth each others, to experience and explore.

hopefully some day it will be possible to do this without having to be about a simulated monetary economy (second life) or being all about beating something over the head (most mmo games).

the name reminds me of an unfortunate experience i had one overly warm day, when my eyes lost syncronization between them for a few moments in real life.
i know the term 'rift' appeals to conflict simulation gamers. i'm not so sure to the oculus part, though its the part that refers at all to what it is.
