E3 Returns; Sasquatch still at large...

General
The following statement is TRUE.
Several years ago, The video gaming industry was on the cusp of entering a new generation. The recent launch of the xbox 360, albeit with some flaws, left gamers around the country ripe with excitement and anticipation for what was to come. The wii and Ps3 were to launch nearly side by side by years end, and the world as we know it would explode. Well, not explode, but, you know, explode.
That year, was 2006.
E3, or the Electronic Entertainment Expo, was fast approaching, and was sure to be jam packed with a mind-numbing amount of info, rumors, and of course...games.
And that it was. With a recently released next-gen console, and two more on the way, it seemed the game industry was in for one hell of a ride.
AND THEN THIS HAPPENED!
Flash forward to after the Expo, after all the fun and games, and after some execs got a bit too loud, and subsequentially ballsy.
The ESA announced that E3 will be converting itself into a smaller, more business focused affair, which in reality, meant it would turn into a horrid, depressing skeleton of it's former self. The attendee list was butchered to nearly 1/12 its size, and it would be INVITE ONLY. The location also changed from the awesome LA Expo Center, to a hangar in Santa Monica, with shuttles that led to other depressing locales. The show was such a confusing mess, that Square-Enix reportedly even left early a day, due to its discomfort and overall dislike for the new format.
But that's in the past.
As reported earlier (via shacknews), E3 is back to basics in 2009, and by the looks of things, for the better. The doors, while not open to the public, are reopened for qualified industry workers (me? please?), dismissing the invite-only mantra established just two crazy years ago. The attendee list now hovers around the same amount as it's glorious 2006 affair, though it is still a smaller number.
With such promising upcoming titles like Halo 3: Recon, No More Heroes 2, and Mass Effect 2, This is certainly great news for any video game fan starved for upcoming events.
Oh, and Booth Babes are BACK.
