One of the principal reasons the consumer PC experience has been consistently terrible pretty much ever the IBM PC format came to prominence in the 80s is that every big-name manufacturer always, always, and always skimps on RAM unless you specifically ask them not to.

I bought a gaming PC and still only have 8Gb of shit-quality RAM. It's actually next on my upgrade list.

I've seen some pretty cheap computers in my local PC store with 10GB default, that's gonna be more than enough for what I do. So I'm probably just gonna go with that.
