Fyi, our youngest is 13 and his dad of 41 i believe has been an active fur for most of his life. And is also the creator of plushies for patients.

Bryce just turned 14, I just turned 47. Wanna learn something? Gotta hang out with those who do know something, which means older people. I taught Logan how transistors work which requires basic statistical quantum mechanics in fifteen minutes, plus intro to Cantorian transfinite set theory just for kicks. How the hell do they expect you to learn anything... by hanging out with who exactly? Now unfortunately what I've learned from twenty-five years of research and reading on behavioral psychology is this... nobody accepts information from outside their demographic. So, they've got to be told by someone from their own circle so to speak. With that in mind, what would that be? I mean really, they can't have much to brag about in their own lives. I'm not the one to talk to them of course, I'd bury them and they'd go all defensive. I'd say from what little I've heard that you do have a sympathetic person in your gran, and that's where you should focus. Use her as a conduit. She's the one who will be able to explain to them, with experience, that children do NOT turn into what their parents wish them to be. Parents have to accept these things, or run the risk of loosing their kids. Case in point eh?!

By the way, it takes exceptional people to do exceptional things. Where are the books they've written? Have they ever done pure research in cancer, or photographed waterfalls in Iceland? Time for a lesson in Latin.
