yah, it was odd, I pressed the scan button on the scanner, then it said my computer disconnected from the scanner, even though it was via USB. So I tried again, and it did it again, turns out that when I was pressing the button, a window was poping up on the screen of my computer, and I had like, 5 seconds to respond to click on scan, but it never saved the image. So I then found out, after 15 minutes of head scratching, there was a specific tool installed into the computer, when I installed the drivers, that was designed to scan and save the image, without touching the scanner, lol.

I didn't like the scan button on the scanner itself (because it would save any B&W image as an Adobe Reader file), so I had to mess around with all the defaults and go in to manually scan the item each time just to get it saved as a JPEG image. I still can't stop it from auto-cropping the image (which makes me mad), but at least it's better than the automatic stuff it was first doing......... *lol*

Yah, I prefer manual cropping, cuz I do light pencil work before I scan stuff in, so to manually crop something when it's scanned in would drivee crazy, cuz id always grt probably half the image cut off. I had to change settings like that to my old old scanner cuz it would do it automatically

Yeah...I notice it'll cut off anything really light colored, too...so it can't read every color in the spectrum when it auto-crops. (Maybe I should draw a border around everything nowadays??? *laughs*)
