Morphicon

With the drama over at Furlaxation...
I was wondering what the knock on Morphicon is? (also in Columbus, Ohio)
I've heard in the past that it was because they had 'adult' panels.
But you have to be an 'adult', and Want to go to them.
I've never seen anything out in the public areas that one doesn't see at AC.
Everything 'Adult' has a guard on it.
Trickster or Jewel are no longer con chairs.
So... What's the problem with Morphicon?
Say what ever you want.
I'm an adult.

The centerpiece of the con is what gives it its reputation. That centerpiece is The Spectacle Of Doom. As far as I have seen or heard, it has always contained, not just adult material, but pornographic material.
In addition, I found out recently, that the author of just about every script for the Spectacle of Doom deliberately tried (and succeeded, btw) in getting me to say as many four letter words as possible in a script which was, word for word, lifted from a you tube item. That person could have, on many of the skits done, simply played the sound track from the videos or recordings that were lifted, word for word, but they didn't, claiming it made it better. I sincerely doubt that. The point being, the author was deliberately using it to make people do things they would ordinarily not do. In other words, it wasn't that I Wanted to be a part of it (which I did not), I was roped into it, and then subjected to abuse.
Whether they are the con chair or not is irrelevant. Remember, I was also a con chair, and I resigned when it became clear that the con chair could do nothing without the approval of the board. While one of the two is no longer on the board, one still is, and the other still writes all of the scripts for the centerpiece of the con.
I for one no longer have anything to do with Morphicon because of the bad reputation it had achieved, and deservedly so.
While I'm sort'a on staff. (Tech Bull) I had no idea what was done to you at the time.
But you were part of staff, I'm talking about the normal con goer, and the experience they can have at Morphicon.
I'm sorry for what happened to you. You are a very nice guy and brought a lot to the con.
I'm sure that 'bridge is burnt'.
But again I ask, for the regular 'Joe/Jill Furry', What is wrong with Morphicon?
We wanted you (both of us did) because you're fun to be around, and popular, and good at chatting up shy people, and would do a good job making people feel welcome at the con. You did a great job of that, and if I didn't praise you more for it at the time, it's because I felt you were pretty much running true to form. I prolly should have said so explicitly.
I'm sorry you feel taken advantage of at the Spectacle of Doom, but honestly, Trickster made no secret of what she wanted you (or anyone else) to do onstage, and what type of atmosphere she was aiming for.
Anyway, I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.
You and I have not always seen eye to eye, but this clearly honest response has restored my faith in you.
Again, THANK YOU!!!
