I saw that too. Someone else posted a journal about it today. Not sure i feel about it.

If one asks too low prices, its unfair competition. If everyone asks high prices, then it's cartel.

For someone like myself, i already have a job, so if i were to open, it'd be not too low, but what i think is right (considering my art sucks atm, that'll be a while)

That's one of the reason why I raised my prices. I still don't want to make it impossible for people to commission me, but I do need the amounf of money asked because I put time and effort in that piece, plus the time talking to the commissioner and doing like they want it.

My old prices would leave me in trouble, but with the new I can actually be comfortable while working and taking time on doing the artwork, because I know it's going to be worth the payment most of times.

to be totally honest there are some artists i think are insanely high. yeah i know it's a lot of work and all but i don't think i could pay over $100 for a single character commission and secondly what if they do art just for fun? i mean like..they have a real job and they just do art on the side for extra spare cash? i mean..don't jump to assumptions and assume they're living off of what they make (although i know some who do live off of commissions)

but i mean sorry. im just not gonna pay 20+ dollars for a sketch (yes ive seen things start there) or people who price things highly just cause they know they can. so what i suppose im saying is about medium prices is ok. not too high not too low. but i will admit im not one to pass on low prices but that's me.

I work with commissions and I had need fix my prices because I'm with problems here and my prices was very bellow the average from other artists when I made a research.

well it just says he spends $300 - $600 a month on commissions. i mean i don't know about anybody else but i can't afford that and i know a few others who can't either. it appears to me that this is from someone who is a bit more well off financially with their money. i agree with them saying some peoples prices should be up more but as i was telling my friend who is also an artist i didn't think they should be too high either so they should find a middle ground to it. not too high not too low. For example i LOVE the artist :cheetahpaws: but his "full illistration" pictures are $250 + and i cant do that less i save for at least a few months. But now YOU personally i think your prices could go up a bit for sure with out a problem and still be fair.

My prices are not so right, I just made a research in artist I know work with commissions. A full body commission now from me is $60 USD. I had need raise prices because I am really living from commission, need pay bills

that's what i said *nods* is with your artwork it would be fair to raise up your prices :)
