I just read this journal from
I'd recommend on others reading it as well. It talks about artists
and commissioners and even paypal. Sorta as the title says already.

Of course hearing such complicated stuff on PayPal scares me out of getting PayPal again... *laughs* It's funny because I have a friend who buys a lot of hentai doujinshi and as you know PayPal doesn't look kindly on "adult services" being paid for through them. So, she makes a big deal about always classifying adult stuff as "gifts" and avoiding the fees. I wonder if she realizes that it could get into trouble if you need a refund...? *hmmmm*
Does she know about the paypal stuff? To many gifts will seem suspicious after awhile and she could get her account frozen for a time as they look into it.
So, maybe you can answer this question, since I don't know much about it--suppose you do want to purchase an "adult piece of art" from an artist, how do you classify that in the PayPal thing? I mean, how specific is PayPal in what they want the "what payment is for" mentioned as?
Um for the question. It asks if this is a purchase of goods or services and then there's the for family/gift option. If it's not a physical item your gonna be receiving(since it's for an art.unless it's gonna be shipped to you) One unchecks the shipping address. Because even if you use this option too much and then the artist isn't shipping things out, they can get their account frozen as well.
That's pretty much it. The note that is optional when sending or receiving a payment is just that, optional. You don't have to fill anything out in it. And I tell those that I'm receiving a payment from to not mention furaffinity, their usernames/my username or anything about adult material. Because if I remember right paypal knows of furaffinity and the adult nature of it at times. So usernames can be a bad thing to mention in the note. And of course don't mention it's for anything adult.
If the artist wants to they can send out an invoice,so that they know for sure no mention of "bad" things can potentially happen. I've considered doing that as well. But haven't figured out the invoices yet.
There was one artist that did a commission for me that I wanted the physical piece for. But circumstances came up and she never could get it to me.
I guess it seems weird to me, coming that I'm from a world of pen-pals and sending things in the mail has never been a big issue for me (although, the Postal Service really needs to start cleaning up internal issues that result in damaged mail if they truly want to keep their business). *laughs* But I try to accomodate people when they say so. (I think more people actually are shocked in the end that I'll willingly mail things to them at no cost... *lol*)
(I still have the traditional Shadow drawing I made for you ready, in case it ever comes to wanting to send it to you someday, too! )
