Barrel: PROOF Research barrel, chambered in 7mm WSM, threaded, 24 inch, Sendero contour (unknown, assume $500)
Stock: JAE-700 (not currently possible) (upgrades: Thumbweel cheek rest ($199), quick detach mechanism for cheek rest ($119), 2" bottom rail ($39), off hand rest with rail ($59), butt pad ($59), palm rest ($49)) ($799 for basic stock, with upgrades: $1323)
Alt. (temporary, until JAE-700 is compatible with M2013) stock: XLR Industries Evolution Chassis ($750)
Trigger: Timney 512 ($119)
Bipod: Atlas BT10-LW17 ($279.95)
Optics: Nightforce 5-25×56 F1 B.E.A.S.T ($3298)
Muzzle: Badger FTE Muzzle Brake ($150)
Mags: Alpha Type 3 (.300 WSM AICS type mags, 7 rounds) ($65 each (maybe 3? 3*65=195))

FA+

Unless your a living bench I doubt any amount of hand machining will make someone a better shot.
I told you about mu .40s&w experiance and then I met a guy who used .40 for competition. Lol.
Some of the most gifted snipers used guns that were not that good.
But seriously, think match shooting, stuff like benchrest, your weapon is as important, if not more important than the shooter there. In normal match shooting, they are equally important.
Sure but I don't take a competition stance on firearms as they make rifles specifically for that. I usually take a military/hunting stance on them.
You seem to just want distance with accuracy usually in the form of wildcat rounds. <.<
While I just like more proven (might be spelled wrong) weapons/designs. AR design not being one of them but the M416 sounds promising.
You like Target rifles I like Hunting/Military rifles. :p
But I hate target pistols XD
Like a TAC-300
And what's wrong with McMillan, you Soviet fanboy?
Can't hunt with it. Wildcat fanboy.
You just jelly that soviets make guns that last.
The TAC-300 is a .300 Winchester Magnum. THAT'S NOT A WILDCAT :3
And I'm a vegetarian, why the fuck would I even want to hunt? :p
But they do make specific hunting rifles.
And I don't see the advantage of a gun that won't jam OR HIT :P
But seriously, I don't dislike Soviet weapons, some of the most awesome specialized weapons were made by them, but I do prefer European and American weapons, usually XD
As I've heard. Those who call the AK has never used one. Or you know just suck. :p
Most cock their elbows out like idiots then complain about it.
And an AK carbine, like the AKMSU or AK-104, would make a pretty good secondary weapon for a sniper in hostile territory, with hopefully an abundance of ammo :3
Funny thing someone made a mosin into a competion rifle. Rather well known local competition guy too.
I heard someone using the old Nagant revolver as a competion gun too.
Best one is an old man in Phoenix using a Colt Navy (I think) for it and he plates his guns in his gold and silver awards that have been melted down.
And I know, that's why I'd want the 104 :P
And I'd definitely want a Nagant revolver XD
They can be suppressed ^w^
And while I hate gold plated guns, that's badass x3
Blah.
I think I told you that xP also they were like $150.
He had multiple single actions plated with twice as many cylinders that were plated.
He is one of the few guys who can fire six shots and make it sound like one. XD
And I'm pretty sure I knew long before I even got on FA XD
And DAMN OwO
And just for you the gun I want most is a toss up between M-14/variant, FA-MAS, or a FN FAL/variant. XP Very indecisive.
From what I've heard both civilian M14 and FAL would be great choices. I believe the M14 is more accurate, though. But I'm not sure XD
And I like range, so that means .308 rather than .223 x3
But that's my not so useful opinion :p
7.62x51 for both and M14 is for sure more accurate.
And if you don't mind bullpup, have a look at the KelTec RFB, I have been hearing really good things, along with some slightly less good things, though. It requires some adjustments to the gas system and you shouldn't use steel cased ammo in it. But it's accurate, lightweight and compact. It's not as pretty as an M14, though XD
I don't think .308 is more powerful but longer range.
And EEEWWWW!! D:
Does it? .308 is bloody small.
Yes, it does. It's almost the same caliber as 7.62 NATO, but has a slightly different case design. Which means more case capacity :3
And I know, but I don't like pistol caliber carbines XD
Too short ranged for their size XD
Plus they are scarce around here and if I could they are like $40 a box. XD
Thats the main reason I like soviet weapons, they tend to be cheap, fewer parts to clean, durable as hell, and the ammo is cheap as shit. XD
I didn't remember you telling me this. XD
I think the highpoint looks funny.
And fuck cheap if you can get range and accuracy :p
And you know a bolt action is easy to clean period, right? XD
And I like submachineguns, not long barreled semi automatic knock offs :p
Fuck cheap? I can get more ammo to fire while you'll go broke trying to load two mags. XD
And noooo XD M4 is the easiest I've cleaned.
Well duh but 30-45k for one.
You think quantity over quality, I prefer quality over quantity XD
But an SMG has practical use, I thought you looked at guns for military or hunting applications? :p
Evidently Quantity is kicking quality's ass.
Smg would be novelty and or a good home defense gun.
And FUCK NO! Quality allows for more advanced tactics, longer ranged shots, you get the point. Though there's not much use in using match grade ammo with, for instance, an AK XD
SMGs are good military and LE CQB weapons x3
it's just cheaper.
Maybe so but the overall tech allows (tanks, etc) pushes the balance on the advanced side.
XP LE?
And fine, cheap ammo that's likely to corrode your barrel vs match grade solids :p
And just pure bias there.
I missed a (roughly) 1in shiny plastic thing like a plastic egg bottom by 2in from 100 yards with my mosin in a sitting position before I got my glasses. Which for someone whose only fired the gun twice before and has unsteady hands I think thats alright if it was a person I would of still hit them. XD
I would if I had the money for the targets. I may pay a visit with a my brother to his friends place who has his own range.
And you should try to learn better shooting techniques (if you don't already have them XD), and get a more stable position, like from a rest, or bipod, if you have one. Or make an improvised tripod with branches :3
Maybe you can extend that range a bit :p
And a stable firing position should help at shorter range as well.
You know, a 1000 meter match rifle x3
So yeah, essentially x3
I'd probably shoot from bipod rather than offhand or from benchrests. And prone rather than sitting XD
Ah, who am I kidding, I'd probably enjoy that part of jail :P
See who has the better gun :P
Then I'd rather go for a DTA HTI in .375 CheyTac, which is the rifle my sona uses :3
