Not me, I'm afraid. I went last year, and it felt like there really weren't many panels, and the elevator lines were horrible. (Ask, my mate and I were wrangling the line briefly, despite the hotel's preference for it NOT to be controlled by us) The only panel/event type that seemed to be in abundance was dancing stuff. (And the Artist's Alley was abominably warm; the short time I was in there was insufferable.)

The elevator is what im worried about, but I think someone said something about fixing that?
Im ok with panels, what im there for mainly is artist alley and chilling around with people :)

I will hope for your sake then, that they work something out with the hotel for the elevators. People grumble about how the Dorsai regulate the elevators at Anthrocon, but honestly... if they didn't, it'd be far worse. Things sped up and we were able to completely clear the line out in the hour or so that my husband and I voluntarily started regulating the elevator. It admittedly would have gone far easier had it been implemented from the beginning, as attendants weren't entirely compliant with trying to cooperate, but understandably so as we didn't jump in until we walked by a disaster on Saturday. It was bad enough I was having to yell/bark at people to get them to listen - it's true, that's what  dingoroo remembers me for! x.x

Also I hope they work out a different spot or better A/C or ventilation for the Artist's Alley. The folks at tables in there (like myself on Friday) were sweating terribly due to the mass quantity of heat produced by so many bodies in such a small area.

Hmm....Well lets hope! I can just imagine the amount of people to the amount of elavators would be a hell of a problem, though price of con/flights still wins out for FWA so Ill go and hope the situation isnt too horrifying :) With the elevators being regulated like that I think itd be much more efficient

AC doesnt bother me too much as NOWHERE here in the UK really has AC xD So im very used to it by now

Just slipping in to say that the staff will be working very hard to control the elevator situation next year so that con-goers as well as other hotel guests will have an easier time of it. Unfortunately elevator issues are a common thing for larger cons and FWA has certainly grown over the years. I hope you won't let this stop you from attending as I'm sure you'll have a good time. FWA has been an absolute blast over the last seven years I've attended.

The elevator situation in the current hotel is TERRIBLE. You can wait over an hour to get in an elevator. Supposedly, staff is going to be policing the elevators better this next year, so we'll see.

Also, be warned- Atlanta is an EXPENSIVE city. FWA is in the downtown, business and tourist district of the city, and everything is overpriced. Bring more money than you think you'll need. You can expect to typically spend $15-30 USD for a single meal, depending on where you go, if you want anything besides fast food. There's LOTS of good restaurants near the hotel.

USA is a nice change :'D A 'meal' out in a nice standard restaurant is around £15 here which is around $25 so thats about normal to me, Im so looking forward to restaurant hopping. And maybe cars, I dont know if bars are a popular thing?

Last year was the first year I went to FWA and I loved it <3 Will be attending again this year.

Honestly the elevator lines weren't bad to me, despite what everyone says. I'm use to Otakon and bigger anime conventions where a 5-15 minute elevator wait isn't that bad plus if you're in fursuit then you get first dibs on the elevators. If you're not in fursuit then the wait really isn't bad : ) Hotel's can't make elevator's run any faster and none of them were down so you can't blame FWA or the hotel for long lines. They did everything they could to get things organized and running smoothly.

and same here? we have MCM over here and im used to large ques for things like stalls/food/elevators and such, to be fair it was sometimes just as bad at EF. Im a patient person, I dont think itll bother me too much :)

It's a wonderful con <3 Not too big and not too small. And the best parts have to be the dance comp. ~<3 they have groups this year so it's going to be huge.

See, you should be fine. I think people are just a little guh about the elevators because they're not use having to wait. And If you're really worried about the elevator then the best option is to just not stay at the con hotel. But I think you'll be perfectly fine :)

:D You have to come watch! My best advice is get there early if you want a good seat. Last year we got there 2 hours early so we could be upfront and by the time the doors opened the line cray.

I wish I could give you more advice on where to stay but is the one who books all my hotels lol

I have been attending FWA since 200 and I can tell you that it is a freaking amazing convention. I can't even explain it, you have to experience it for yourself and I recommend that you do!

I think the thing that I love the most about this con is the fact that, no matter how much it grows and how many people attend, it always feels so personal to me, I feel like I belong there and that I am part of the experience, not just a face in the crowd, like some larger cons that I have been to. Atlanta is also a really fun city with a lot to do and the con location is right down town so everything is within a very short walking distance.

They have awesome dances every night, an array of interesting panels and events, and a very easy going atmosphere. Definitely worth the visit.

Home con for us! Hehe. I went last year, it was my first Furry Con EVER. It was AMAZING!! The hotel's elevators is the only down side but there are TONS of places to eat right next to the con and the city is totes cool with it! The dance competitions is a for sure, must-see!! Their ball rooms are a lot bigger than most con's I've been to, too! I've heard it's been getting bigger and bigger each year, too. :3 Dearler's Den was epic last year!

I been to FWA in 2012, I is good place to be a fair amount of peep there, don't just hang arounf in FWA, go look outside too. Sadly I won't be there because I'm saving up for Australia.

I was there the year before last, before they moved hotels. The con itself is fantastic and loads of fun!
I'm anxious about the elevator situation as well as I've heard the stories from last year. But lets hope that its true that it'll be resolved this up coming year.

Definitely there as part of the charity organization, the Conservators' Center. Come see us and whatever small ambassador animal we have along for the event! FWA is an amazing group of furs, and the staff are organized, alert, and helpful. Great experience, even when elevators cause problems. ;)

Yeah the hotel and area looked fantastic and I've heard good things about the con :) I think its going to be an awesome experience!

Just a warning! We had trouble using our cell phones in the hotel rooms. Lobby area was fine though. So if we separated and tried to contact each other, it was a pain. Otherwise though, enjoyed the whole damn thing!

If you want to attend a con where plenty of warm, friendly furries gather, FWA is an excellent choice. I went to two conventions in 2011, FWA and Anthrocon, and the experiences were profoundly different. Although the Pittsburgh event offered more structured activities, the Atlanta furries were far, far more welcoming. I believe that you'll agree that dozens of life-affirming personal interactions trump a few nifty panels. Have a wonderful, safe trip! BTW I'm making my own fursuit (my first and it's a porcupine, sheesh....) I admire the eyes in your suits. In fact, they are the best I've ever seen. I hope I have the opportunity to get a closer view in person at FWA 2014.
