..FANTASTIC. More fun than you could shake a stick at. So good it made me want to lie down and scream!
The fandom continues to evolve as it grows. What was big back in the Paleolithic (when I first joined "furrydom", as opposed to the second time) no longer carries much weight. There's much less interest in original art and more in fursuits; buttons and badges win over portfolios. There are more artists and the bar's been raised quite a few ticks since my Heady Early Days. Not a thing wrong with that.
I made new friends. I hung out with my Buds of Yore. I had a great time, caught the Con Crud, and lost the stylus to my Wacom Intuos 3. Did anybody notice a stray Wacom pen? Would you be willing to get it to me in return for a reward?
That was the only bummer to the whole deal. To my friends, new and old, I cannot wait to see you again at RF next year, if not sooner!

That's a big deal. To some of us (myself included)..it's been a literal life saver.
I wish I could have gone..I wish I could have me you. I owe you such a huge hug, Berb. I really appreciate the friendship, love and respect you've shown me. Maybe some day we'll get to meet at Furry Fiesta (or if you're ever in Bertram, Texas..you're always welcome in our home.)

You know what I think about when I consider what you've written? I think of tree forts. Y'know, tree forts, a club house for Only the BOYS but then SOMEone just HAS to let a GIRL in and RUIN EVERYTHING. Yet the world doesn't end, after all, from the existence of co-ed tree forts.
Old example. See? I'm old. The fun thing about modern times is the pace. There's a whole generation with nigh unto no tree fort experience! Anyway...
Marginalized folks, they band together and try to make a space for themselves. What's funny and a little sad about the whole business is watching people who felt ostracized by our culture try to prevent others from messing with their clubhouse--disenfranchised people trying to disenfranchise other disenfranchised folks. What's the point in doing that?
No fandom "belongs" to anyone. Each new generation of people will add something to the work made by their predecessors, up to and including tearing it all down and starting anew. As it was and ever shall be, world without end.

Meaning the art show and venders pay for the convention, but if no one is buying from them, then there is no reason for those outlets, which leaves the convention hanging on $$ unless it makes up for the cost someplace else.
I too wish to lye on the floor and scream. I can't believe it's already over!
Also- sorry to hear your stylus went missing. :c That's no bueno. I have a spare I bought when I thought my original stylus had died. Turns out they're both fully functional. Maybe I can arrange for it to reach your capable tendrils of creation?
Buds of Yore are are long-suffering foes of depression and other bad things. They even share illnesses with you! That there's love, let me tell you. Though nobody I know shared this illness with me. I got it all on my own.
You are INSANELY SWEET, woman. It all depends on the type of stylus. My tablet's an Intuos 3, is that the same as you? If they match then good Lord, I will owe you art for this.
Ping me and we shall gabble of all these things! There's no chance the stylus will turn up. I'd have found it by now. :P
