~ The theme for this month shall be *drum roll* HALLOWEEN =D *spooky noises* ~
On Saturday 12th October it will be the MancFurs mini furmeet! And to celebrate our Halloween theme, we’re going to be holding a fancy dress competition with 2 separate categories for best dressed fursuit and best dressed non fursuiter. The prizes are as follows:
Best dressed NON fursuiter
1st Dual colour tail offered by StupidGeckoStudios (Colour and style to be agreed by maker)
2nd Coloured digital icon by IndiWolf
3rd Halloween themed YCH in watercolour offered by Foxcote
Overall best dressed fursuiter
Tail keyring by Chloe Bear/ StupidGeckoStudios (Colour and style to be agreed by maker)
Please take note, if face or body paint is part of your super spooky halloween costume, be careful about fursuiters and attendees! Otherwise have fun with it and be creative!
Staff and volunteer information
If you ever want to speak to one of the MancFurs staff regarding anything at all, you can spot them by their red lanyards with an attached badge that will say staff. If you’re unsure who to talk to, all of our attendees are lovely, so just ask them to point you in the right direction! Our staff at present include:
Lone - Meet organiser
Stuart Otterson - Community liaison
At the meets we are helped out by a number of volunteers. These people are indicated by a yellow lanyard complete with volunteer badge. Our volunteers help out with everything that makes the meet what it is. From setting up the headless lounge for fursuiters, to conducting our monthly pub quiz!
This month’s volunteers include, but aren’t limited too:
Geo
Hakota
Yumi Boxer
Benny GSD
Jett Badger
Kaoru
Diesel
Pizza
Information about the venue from Lone
It may remain the venue for the foreseeable future so please - good behaviour and spend lots! As a special note this is a new venue and a much higher level of respect must be given, we have had some individuals acting inappropriately, please use common sense as both the venue and myself (lone) will take the appropriate action.
<< We do have rules at the meets which you can see on our page >>
Saturday 12th October – Meet day and what to expect
We all meet up at between 11am and 12pm at Manchester Piccadilly train station. You can find us all stood outside platforms 1 and 2. Please make sure you’re here before 12, otherwise you’ll get left behind! We don’t wait for people who are late. It always helps to have someone’s mobile number in case you get a bit lost or feel shy. Feel free to message any staff to ask for a number to contact people on. Stuart Otterson will be waiting to welcome you at the station and is free to talk to any shy MancFurs who may be attending their first meet. Don’t worry! We’ve all been there! :)
Making sure we have everyone with us, we’ll make our way to Tribecca, our host venue. We will have a whiteboard with the daily planned activities including drawing games, a pub quiz, a fursuit walk and board games! If you have any questions feel free to ask. :) Our headless lounge is for fursuiters only so please register your fursuit when you arrive with Lone! The downstairs area or bed bar is booked until 6pm so please make sure all personal belongings are cleared before this time!
After you’ve arrived, the day is yours to spend as you see fit. Go out with a group of your friends to the city centre, stay inside the venue and take part in some activities, sit in the nearby gardens, head to the cinema and so forth.
Activity information
• Pub quiz (general furry knowledge) [Pizza]
• Art Corner [Diesel]
• Card and board games [Stuart]
So far we are hoping to provide as many games as possible with help from our volunteers.
However, if you can always with a group of friends pick up a game an play, if anyone want to help run games through the day so please contact MancFurs on FA, Twitter or Facebook.
Fursuit walk
If the weather is good we will be having our fursuit walk at 3pm. Please get changed and be ready before this time so you don’t get left behind! As mentioned before the downstairs area or bed bar is booked 12-6pm for fursuit storage and to serve as a headless lounge. Please note only fursuiters are allowed in this area as it isn’t exactly the biggest space in the world!
Headless lounge
There will be high powered fans to allow air circulation and cooling for the suiters but also to dry the suits off. There is a suit rack for the suits that need to air out a bit from use. Water will be provided in a cold water keg with cups for use but try not to make a mess. Lastly the suit changing area is strictly for storage of suit, changing in and out and drying or cooling off suits, space is limited at the best of times in the area so please do not spend time in there just socialising you will be asked to allow space for other suiters. Please make sure all personal belongings are cleared from this area before 6pm as the area then becomes open to the public.
5pm Cinema Trip
Lone
If you are interested please speak to Lone.
Sunday 13th October
There have been a few negotiations with Tribecca and with their Sunday deal of £2.50 Rekorderlig bottles, I have asked them if it would be ok for a smaller Sunday event, a place we can store any extra items like suits or luggage that is required and allow a second day at the venue. So if you want to save a little in the pocket Sunday maybe a cheaper day for you.

Donations
We accept donations. We are keeping it as transparent as possible and you can always enquire about what we do with donations, how we handle it and give us suggestions on how to make it more transparent and what we can invest it in.
If you wish to donate you can come up to a MancFurs staff and ask about the donation box, which is sealed until the end of the meet where witnesses watch the money being counted. Lone is the treasurer and puts it into a Lloyds's TSB account.
You can alternatively donate via PayPal to manchesterminimeets[at]hotmail.com
Volunteers
Lasty I would like to mention the Volunteers, those that have helped the meets in any little or large way possible, from letting us know, set-up or just providing the meets with materials we need to help carry them on, so I would like to personally thank the volunteers for the last few months and I hope they can keep up the good work. Especially Geo taking up the role of last meets walk leader.
Also, if it's not too much trouble. Could you please change my name on Art Corner from 'Holly' to 'Diesel'. I'm trying to get people to stop calling my by my birth name and start calling me by my preferred name |D
