A similar bill was passed in california, back in 2000. Proposition 22. The results were overwhelmingly in favor of the ban, over 12%. Total of 7,528,043 votes.
2008, we see the bill pass again. And we wait for call-ins with a glimmer of hope. The bill passes by 3%. Total of 10,246,392 votes.
That's 2,718,349 new voters. Guess which way they all voted?
757,720 new votes favored the ban. 1,960,629 new votes favored human rights.
2000 vote on Prop 22: ~61% ban vs ~38% support
2008 vote on Prop 8 : ~52% ban vs ~47% support
