laptop keyboard ruined, no more writing for now
12 years ago
a couple of drops of condensation from a glass of water fell on my laptop keyboard and ruined it. The keys don't work anymore. I'm really upset. If it doesn't return to working condition I will have to buy a new one online. In the meantime I more or less will be without my laptop for a while. My phone is my only source of internet right now.
EDIT: I do have the keyboard dismantled and drying in rice but this has happened before and last time drying didn't work so I am not hopeful this time either.

Can't you go to the store and buy a cheap one?
It's really nice having finger space on this keyboard to type, instead of being all bunched up. USB Keyboards are a good long-term investment.
Went to officemax...nowait officedepot...nowait staples... I DONT KNOW (coincidentally backtoschoolsale so everything was a bit cheaper) and picked up a nice wireless keyboard/mouse combo. It was like 17.95 or something and i use that keyboard now, rather than getting this laptop's builtin one repaired. even if the k key still randomly ghosts while i'm typing and i have to thump the keyboard to get it to stop.
Or, a smaller wireless bluetooth keyboard you can lay on top of your laptops, to retain some element of portability c:

It helped because my laptop keyboard went out (first a few keys, then the whole thing) and I got sick of using the on-screen keyboard. Gave me a functional laptop, more or less, until I could afford a new one.
Now if the laptop itself is messed up, well...sorry to hear that.
