Requests/commissions, go for it! But i must warn you, dont do requests for too long or people will end up using you and treating you like shit :L

yeah, I didn't have requests in mind for too long, it's helped me in the past, but if I was to do them they'd be pretty limited to maybe 3 if that. Ive made request journals before and was a little overwhelmed by the amount of requests I got.

Once you get out of the basic brushes, its worth it. When doing comic related stuff, my friends all opt for Sai, and I have looked into it a few times mainly for the lines, but it reminds me too much of the gimp, which reminds me of a glorified paint. I've been using pro versions of photoshop and illustrator on my own for a pretty long time now, and I am always learning something new. Photoshop is great for doing more typical art or editing, as it seems more and more with the versions to be fully catering to painting and corrections now. I kinda hate doing digital work though so I avoid it as much as I can.

As for commissions, be wary on the sketches deals. I am suck with a really low price and a lack of clarification on my style of sketches, and a strong following or people that love to request but never commission. I'd say keep it limited, and maybe offer request journals but make it a pick and choose deal or something.

Yeah, the one thing I like about sai is simply the ease of moving the canvas around, I haven't found any kind of secret yet to quickly flip/rotate/zoom with out having to use my tablet when I'm in photoshop. Other than that, I've really started favoring it, even for comic stuff. My class had me working in photoshop for a while so I have gotten used to moving around it, and there are some crucial features that it has that I don't think sai has.

Oh photoshop has a rotation too, I found it once and was super exited, then never ended up using it. ;3; (I forgot about it as usual) It has a key command to I think. I am so terrible at those, besides basics.

I used a cintiq a few times, and loved the rotation pad for your finger. My two tablets are super old, but they work well for what I need them for but that pad plus photoshop, I think would be a winner vs sai.

ah, yeah I use the rotation a lot haha. I know how to do it on my tablet, I just need the key command since I'm not a fan of doing it on the tablet. I have an intous tablet, so I can atleast zoom, rotate, and all that other stuff, just need a button to temporary flip an image and I'm set with just photoshop.
