If i had shoes! THEY WOULD GO HERE
1. What first got you interested in making music?
What really got me into making music was that I would hear things, songs and such, that I liked and would hear things that I thought could be made better, taken out, and stuff like that. Then I got my first guitar and realize “I can make music with this thing!”
2) How has this interest affected your life?
Well…currently I’m a student at the Art institute of Atlanta, working on a degree in audio production. So I would say it’s affected my life in an unbelievable way.
3) Why did you choose your specific Genre?
I didn’t choose it. It chose me, it was challenging to start out with but after learning that first songs and getting the rush of playing it right, I decided metal was the best music suited for my tastes in writing, even more so with the fact that you can drop anything into a metal song and if it’s done right, it’ll sound good. Want a jazz section? Go for it. Hip-hop? Drop it in. Spanish groove for a couple bars? Go with it.
4) Do you have any projects that you are currently working on?
Right I’m writing music for a 6 track Ep entitled “Illustration of Illusion” That I plan to release under the name Chaos Theory
5) What are your future plans for your music?
I’m at a school with a fully furnished 28+ pro-tools equipped studio. Expect to so a live album of select songs sometime in 2009-2010
6) What is your inspiration for writing music?
Life.
7) Which of your songs is your favorite?
My personal Favorite? That would have to be a tie between “Be paintball wars with shot guns” and “Chaos to Serenity Part: 1” both of those are near and dear to Me.
8) Which is your least favorite?
That’s easy. “Soldier’s Song” Off of Theory part 2. It’s so technical it’s unnecessary and it’s really repetitive to.
9) What do you think the hardest part of composing music is?
Making sure that every thing is audible and nothing gets completely drowned out. Working with midi makes it slightly easier and a lot harder at the same time/
10) which of your songs holds the most emotional value to you?
King of Roses, Paintball wars and Testament V. Those have been my theme songs for months now
11) which of your songs did you take longest/shortest amount of time to compose?
The song that took me the longest to compose would have been Chaos to Serenity 3…that took about…6…maybe 7 months to reach the version it is now. Shortest? Baring intro and abstract observation that would have to be Eternity. 2 days for the entire song.
12) Do you have any advise for current and future composers?
Do what feels right for you! Not what’s popular now!
