You should take up some creative writing too and help your ideas for character and environment design. Perhaps take a look at other artists and consider their main concepts in their characters and maybe you too can find something you like to create. Maybe even make a big story with all these characters in a world you can design with a plot and everything. =^.^= It's even fun just creating small scenarios for your characters. You can piece them together and create marvelous stories that way.

As for your situation, I suggest studying when you can allow yourself and find a job in the military like you mentioned. It's the quickest was up "the ladder".

I don't have any real words of wisdom for you. The job market might be tough now but the world economy comes and goes. Right now, it's in its decline. At some point, it will turn around and the job markets everywhere will pick up. You just have to wait it out.

So your options are:

1. to go to graduate school and study something you don't like?
or
2. finish undergraduate school and join the military?

Those are tough choices but I think graduate school, even if it is something you don't like, will help you out later in life. And, if things are tough, once you complete graduate school, you could still go into the military for a year if you had to, right? If that is true, graduate school sounds like the best option to me.

If art is something you enjoy, you will always find time for it in your life. Even if it is not your primary job, you can still supplement your income with art. I think you have great skill and, even if you feel stuck right now, you'll eventually get past it - most people's artwork evolves over time, even if they don't notice it right away. I enjoy your style of artwork very much. It is unfortunate that making a living with art can be so difficult.

I wish you luck, whatever you choose, but graduate school sounds like the best option to me, especially if you can fall back to the military option after you graduate because the job market might get better while you are in graduate school. You never know. Hope for the best but plan for the worst. ^_^;;

Are you accepting commissions again? I am confused because your FA commission page says "yes" but I think I read that you took 3 commissions recently.

Hmm...what is it exactly that you're studying? And if you don't like it, is there any particular reason you kept that major? That must suck. =( Military doesn't sound very fun to me either. Even if you never have to actually fight, they put you through hell when training. Hmm. Seems like you have a tough choice. Only thing I can say is, it will almost always be easier to get a job if you go on to graduate school. If the availability of jobs in your country is the problem, maybe you should think about finding a job somewhere else. That's always hard, I'm sure, but sometimes it's for the best. If I recall correctly, he's from Taiwan. I've known people from Taiwan who don't consider it a part of China. Conversely, I work with Chinese who think just the opposite. So I guess it depends who you ask.

Well, no special reason, it's just that my parents are traditional Chinese parents and wish I can keep it, and also, I think maybe I can find the way to study well and like it if I keep reading, but well...I still don't like it~XD
And yeah, I think try to get into the graduate school is better to find a job...I'll try, it's better than not do anything and just wait until I graduate and get into the military right away, huh? XD

Seems like that's the same situation everyone goes through- of course in the United States we don't have a draft anymore, but it is hard to find a job even if you do have the education for it.
Our economy is really bad, and I'm hoping our new president will do something about it :\

But, go for what you dream. If you want to do something with your art, you have to work for it.

I have to agree with skimike. Also, as someone who does work, I can assure you, unless you're a workaholic who pulls lots of overtime every day, you will have enough time to draw, or write, or just relax and have fun.

The real problem right now seems that you're afraid you won't find a job. I've had that, myself, but in the end, it all worked out, because I tried my best to find one. ^^

I don't think Im a workaholic person...so yeah, I think I'll find time doing what I want.
