Cellphone Opinion Help!!!

I am stuck!! And not because I'm fat darn it :/ just kidding, I'm so fat I get stuck everywhere!!!
Anyway!!! I'm trying to decide on a new cellphone for myself and am having a hard time doing so. I currently have an iPhone 4, and want to upgrade. I absolutely do not want another apple product, I've had such shitty luck with customer service, slow operating system, fragile product, etc. So I want y'all's opinion!! I was thinking about getting either the Samsung Galaxy s4, or the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active! I'm open to other ideas as well! Tell me what you think! I want to go shopping this afternoon for a new one so after work I'll read and see what y'all had to say.

Last year I dumped Verizon and cut my bill in half. I ended up buying a Nexus 4 straight from Google and pairing it up with StraightTalk. Way cheaper than Verizon and just as good. The phone also doesn't have any carrier crapware on it so I can (and have) tether if I want.
If I were still with an overpriced large carrier I'd be looking at a Galaxy Note phone. Great little portable sketchpad! Buying that phone outright is ridiculous though, so no Galaxy Note for me on the cheap carriers.
