Why I hate Steve Jobs

The Life and Times of Kaze Lionpawz, the retail employee
Ok so here is the story of why i was away from FA for so long.
It all started when I went to work to exchange my old ipod touch for my new one, old 16 gig, for new 32 gig, which cost the same price. I went in, had the exchange done, simple. Me and my brother on our way home decided to stop into block buster and pick up a movie and some pop corn. we get a couple games and i for get what movie, it was that one where a guy and girl wonder into this motel where the guy who runs it is killing people and taping it. Anyway.
We get home and i run upstairs and plug my ipod into my pc. I need to download the new version of iTunes, which is to be expected. I set up the download and come down stairs where i find my brother in frustration couldn't get the pop corn to pop properly. This is the bucket with the kernels at the bottom of it, not the bag style. so we got 2 for a dollar, i follow the directions, EXACTLY, and walk away to install the new version of itunes on my pc. a wait a few minutes then go to the living room to put the movie in and go back upstairs, everything is going fine.
Suddenly i hear my family yelling and screaming downstairs and my smoke alarm is going off. I run down stairs to find the entire first floor of my house covered in a thick black smoke. The pop corn caught fire! luckily none of the flames had gotten out of the microwave, and the think was still in working order cuz we have one of those glass plates that cooks the stuff. After all the scares and anger and so forth, we give up on pop corn and decied to just watch the movie, on blu-ray naturally.
Suddenly i remember that i have a new toy waiting for me upstairs. I go to my pc and examine it, It's off, which i assume that windows needed to restart to finalize the updates. This was NOT the case.
The next day, after realizing that it was not my power supply, i started to freak out that the problem was my mother board, for some reason my mother board was fried. Luckily intel gives me a 3 year warranty with my boards. I call them up promptly and find out that i need to call back during business hours, which you think they would tell me in there phone message. I look up and realize that i AM calling within business hours, but they are based in California.. so after some math i call back as soon as they open and explain to them my scenario.
You think that people who speak English could be able to understand it as well. after trying to explain my address to them for the sixth time, I get to the people in charge of shipping, I ordered NEXT DAY shipping, keep this in mind, it's important. After giving my credit card info and ordering and identical board to mine i hang up and try to relax. moments later my phone rings an unfamiliar number.
***intermission***
"hello?"
"yes this is **** from intel, your mother board isn't in stock."
They didn't have the board i ordered. Ordered, paid for, file paper work for, they didn't fricken have it. So we agree on one that's similar, only difference is this new one doesn't have RAID, which I never even used. so fine ok I'll take it, and that is the curtain on day two.
the following morning, again, I egarly await the UPS truck to deliver my board, never showed up, didn't even have a package for anyone on my block. At this point even with all my rage and anger i decide to give them the benefit of the doubt and think maybe it was ordered late and will arrive the following day. this did not happen. The day after i call them up and the instant someone answers I scream at them saying "I wanna speak to whoever is in charge of your job cause i want to get you fired!" The next person I speak with the is manager of the phone support at intel.
I ask *** why my board hasn't been shipped yet, her response, her reason for my pain is. "We
re sorry, we haven't shipped it yet." No fucking duh, If you did I'd have it now. So after yelling at her she tries to calm me by saying it will arrive tomorrow and we will refund any cost to you. This is what i wanted in the first place, so this was my first piece of half decent news.
Finally, the board arrives, I install it, and begin the long process of getting my computer the way i like it. And now, I've returned to FA.
And THAT is why I hate Steve Jobs.

also the fire in the kitchen might be related to the mobo frying. though usually something big enough to do that you'd notice in other things. light flickering sorta thing.
as for the popcorn catching fire even after following the directions...cant help you there. but i'm not a popcorn fan either XD well at least not anymore >.> makes me ill *sigh*
i actually like pop corn a lot too, especially kettle corn...its just that i have to eat a roll of Tums basically after wards or it makes me really sick, especially movie theater popcorn.
and i've just never liked ipods X3
it would be weird considering that the two are on different floors. but house wiring can be funny that way. and if it was powerful enough it would have backed through the other nearby lines anyways. though if it was that powerful one would think it probably would have knocked out breakers or something a little more severe than what happened. meh, who knows. the only reason my computer isnt fried after a couple of storms and such is thanks to an APC surge protector and a kick ass antec PSU.
haha, you're welcome. long or short i always try to read them. especially since one of my traits is writing long ass journals all the time. as well as long ass comments like this one XD sorry about that.
As or OCing, honestly, I really can't be bothered with it. I'm always afraid I'll fry it that way, lol.
Yeah, im actually running stock right now because my old setting we're acting up. planning on redoing the whole thing this thanksgiving if not sooner. gotta finish a few mods too. But when done right, OCing doesn't really fry anything, just makes it hotter. so if not properly cooled it will burn up. but if properly cooled it may only loose a year or two of its life...and most procs/mobos/gpus out live their usefulness anyways.
