It is in the DTC, so other side of town. But still this is a step up for RMFC.

not necessarily. i believe the rooms are cheaper at the Marriot, than they were at the Doubletree.

i cannot confirm this though.

After checking my bill compared to the prices for the Marriot, Doubletree was more expensive except for breakfast o.0 for whatever reason The marriot is way more expensive for breakfast.

To expand on this comment, we actually managed to negotiate the rate down to the point where it was only $10 more than last year per night. Not too shabby considering this is a fancy, dancy hotel!

crap they do? that's not cool at all! I use internets while at the con to keep in touch with my mate if he's not here with ;n; not even cool man.

Interestingly, free internet is becoming more and more rare. The chairman and I both frequent Further Confusion and RainFurrest and both of those convention hotels did not offer free internet. (Both were Hyatt hotels)

I'm concerned about this new move. Speaking as a native Coloradan, I know the area and it's confusing as feldercarp to navigate. Even people who commute to the DTC area daily for work have complained about the difficulty of navigation and the poor layout of streets by the previous city planners. It'd be like chucking a bunch of furries in a labyrinth and when they ask a Minotaur for directions it'd say even it was confused, and it lives in the dang labyrinth.

To counter this, we hope to have a good map we can give out to folks! Fortunately, some really killer restaurants are only a couple of blocks away and require no more than one right or left turn, lol

I look forward to taking a look at the map of the area once you've compiled it. As a suggestion to the convention staff that run this page, I'd recommend that once the map is finished, you post it here under your submissions gallery for easy access to the convention staff and attendees. Two birds, one stone.

I am for this move, you guys need a bigger place that can handle the people in the area. DTC is a nice area

Ugh, that is really REALLY out of the way of everything cool to do in Denver. :/

Can't be helped sadly. Some day maybe we'll be able to move back downtown but.. hotels and convention centers are quite pricey so we'll need to grow some before that happens.

I understand the reasoning. Doesn't make it less annoying, but makes it more tolerable. :P

It's a few minutes of walking (took me 7 minutes), but I should point out that there is a light rail station across from the RMFC hotel. Just sayin! :)

I'm from Wyoming and easily intimidated by this black voodoo light rail. :P
