Draft Two: Done!
Just remember; no matter how bad things get... they can always get worse.
If anyone still follows my progress on my story, you'll be happy to know that as of now, the second draft is done. 100% finished. After going through and tweaking some known trouble spots, I'm going to work on a bonus chapter to give the theme a bit more believability, I'll need some help with that.
purplemonkey knows first hand that I'm a pain in the ass to work with, but I really greatly thank her for sticking this out and maybe giving me a hand to polish the over all theme. In total there are eighteen chapters, a preface, prologue, and epilogue (which will only really make sense when the bonus chapter is finished.)
I started working on this story in 2009 and am only now getting to the point where I feel comfortable with how it's written. I've been writing since I was 12 and in actuality this was the very first story I tried to write. Funny how time makes a hell of a difference in one's understanding of things eh?
Anyway, I'm glad to be done with this story, and I look forward to polishing it, and getting it ready for publishing. I took a writing class over the last two months and actually learned quite a bit, which is the only reason I'm going to tweak it one last time; I do not anticipate it taking so long as the second draft, simply because I was so close to having it right this time.
I'll be editing for structure mostly, the overall theme is in its infancy and still needs some ironing out, though I don't plan to continue the "narrations" into future parts, it wouldn't fit the story. If you've ready the complete first chapter (all ten parts) then you should know that I did change the ending, but I feel as though it flows more naturally, and gives the story a rather nice ending. The epilogue may not stay, but that hasn't been decided yet, I need to get a second opinion of what loose ends I need to tie up first. I'll keep you all posted.
