....But it's a multiple part story and it's set during (Well near) Christmas, so I'm asking if I should post part 1 now or wait some more time before I do so.

I would say go ahead and post up part one, it's a good chance for people to see it and give any suggestions or let you know what they like about it! That's just my two cents.
