this is kind of a personal journal >?????
i am very close to finishing university for the year (literally this coming sunday) and i am honestly very glad.
at first i was very looking forward to university and university life. but due to personal reasons it's been hard to get through, especially this second semester. so i've decided to defer my study for a year to take a break because i just. really need it. i spoke to a counsellor at university and they also agree that having time off would help me out psychologically.
having a year off would ALSO give me a lot of time to focus on my art (seeing as university is more...using programs and such i didnt have much time to work on art.) because i feel like my improvement has been greatly hindered. i dont feel like ive improved at all and it's kind of distressing haha....
but yeah honestly university wasn't cut out to what i created in my head. i study animation but... well i don't really want to be an animator? i want to study illustration but literally no university in the whole of queensland or new south wales offers an illustration course. well. ok maybe i haven't searched hard enough but still, they're hard to come by is what i'm saying. (basically dont study in australia for art. oh my god.)
so that got me thinking about studying abroad, specifically in america cos that's where it's all happenin yo. i looked at the list of universities i can study at and they do offer illustration courses so!!!!!! i've made that my goal to work towards within the next year... as i have to save up a lot of money to be able to afford it all hahhhhh
TL;DR UNI SUCKS SO I MIGHT BE PARTYING OVER TO AMERICA
.SRRY FOR SUCH A POINTLESS JOURNAL I GOTTA DO ASSIGNMENTS NOw..,,,

here let me just teleport you over to my school or even my city since a couple of schools here offer illustration courses. that was actually what i studied for two years! fun fact.
BUT YEAH SORRY I'M BEING WORDY seriously best of luck, and i hope this week goes by swiftly for you. YOU CAN DO IT!!
frickin jetskis over to america and ollies over to ur school.
if i can get your opinion..... has art school/studying illustration helped you with your art??
(also omg no need to apologise, thank you for the support tent uwu///)
thank you for the support <3
I will be going to an art school in Canada (hopefully) but I'm also looking at a place in the UK. It's cheaper (both places) AND I can get a lot of financial help unlike here in the states.
I can't afford school in the states because my father makes WAY TOO MUCH MONEY so I can't get federal aid. And with the way that my past art college professors treated me, it fucked up my GPA so bad I can't even get scholarships in a large majority of US schools. So it's like, "AVOID THE US FOR SCHOOLING." They don't even pay their international students well at all to go to college in some places. :c
I would have signed myself away to the war machine, but I can't because ANXIETY MEDS~! Have to be off those fuckers for a year before I can even think of joining. Bah.
It's always good to take a break.
animating is good but when everything's in 3D now it's not that fun anymore, so studying illustration is a much
better thing(i want it myself either).
if you succeed to come and study in america, best of luck for you!
but yeah... i don't hate 3D but it's just not what i want to do for my career! drawing is what i like and what i have talent in so...i will stick to that ahha. but omg we can be illustration buddies ;D
its just living costs that i have to worry about....
if i had to pay the american tuition fees it wouldnt even be a consideration cos id like to not be hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt............
