Ugh, I'm getting chains of up to like 70 and still getting absolutely nothing - my girlfriend got a barbroach, friend got a clauncher, know a lot of people have gotten skrelp and dragalge's too :(

First Pokemon in your party needs to have the ability 'Suction Cups'
Inkay is probably the most common one to have it - can be caught in the grass that's up near Ambrette Town on the cliff top, it's evolution and Octillery can have it as well.
The pokemon with the ability can be knocked out or consious, doesn't matter just needs to be first in your party, but you need to remember that
a) Catching a Pokemon breaks the chain and b) So does moving so much as a step from the spot you're standing at.
