My mate is back at work! The aura has changed so much around the apartment since then. Not nearly so much stress, and from what I can tell (since I'm always out like a light) more restful nights due to the lack of stress. So, yay!

Just the other night, however, neither of us got any sleep due to our water heater acting the fritz. So, we ended up, after a whole run-around with other numbers; the police department (to see what would be considered an emergency, because the maintenance wouldn't go anywhere until morning) and the fire department, ended up sucking it up and dialing 911. Well, turns out they re-directed us to the fire department, and they arrived to tell us that there was water around our water heater.

(It all started with myself smelling something burning throughout the apartment)

My mate and I looked at each other and said, "Really? We didn't know that." And said that the maintenance wouldn't do anything about it until morning, and one of the fighters said, "Well, they'll have to in the morning anyway, because your gate isn't working, and that can and will result in a fine if it's not fixed, so, you tell them that if they give you lip." Which, we didn't have to, because the maintenance never called us back that night after we called a second time.

So, yea, all in all, that was fairly eventful. We have a new water heater and my mate has her job back. All, for now, is right as rain! Would be nice for it to rain, tho lol. Well, not really since when it rains it pours here, so... Eh. Anywhoozlebutt!
