I didn't have a doll like this myself when I was younger, but I had a big yellow smiley plush that would laugh and laugh when you squeezed it's hand. I didn't like it really, so it'd sit across the room.
Remember one night I was asleep, and it woke me up with it's laughing as if someone squeezed it. I dunno what happened in reality, I just remember that going back to sleep was impossible after waking up at early hours with a doll laughing at you from across the room in complete darkness.
