Fursuit fan problem? HELP pls~!! ;u;

So I wore my suit for Halloween and noticed that the fan installed in the muzzle wasn't working. I thought the batteries had died (since I haven't worn it since Anthrocon back in June), but even a fresh battery didn't make a difference.
I think it might be something wrong with the wires? I noticed that when I had the head upside down, the fan would start working, but would stop as soon as the head was right side up again.
Has anybody else had similar problems and/or know how to fix this?? ;v; Having a working fan makes a world of difference since I have such low heat tolerance to begin with uuuughdkfjdslk

As a temporary fix, you can fiddle around with the wires until the fan comes on, then get a piece of tape to hold the wire in place until you can get someone to look at it
Do you have a friend (that knows about the suit) that could take a look at it?
I could replace the wires in minutes, if I was anywhere close (will be going to MFF tho, if you are going)
Unfortunately I don't know anyone local either ffff. Will most likely have to fix this on my own!
And the fan kit is sitting in a pocket inside the head and held in place with velcro, so it's definitely secure.
Hopefully at the next con you go to, there will be someone there that can fix it.
But please, let me know how you get on. If you really can't find someone to help, maybe I can walk you through fixing it yourself.
If the battery just hangs loose, then it can stretch the wire and cause this
