Some folks seem to do it and enjoy it. I never considered it myself because I was not sure I could deal with making someone happy or not, with a story that might take a lot of time and be totally 'eh'ed by the recipient. Though it might be fun, would you be doing a certain theme or anything?

Yeah I've noticed that a few really do enjoy it.... but like you, I'm not sure I have what it takes to make the commissioner happy ...

It can't hurt to try, but.... I don't know. It may be tougher than writing for a submission, because like plastic surgery making the customer happy may get complex. You should make sure you decide on the ground rules first, like how many revisions and such.

I made a stab at offering story commissions awhile ago and got no response. Would love to do it, as I could use the inspiration, though you will likely end up having to go outside your comfort zone for content.

Well, there's a variety of ways, as I understand it. One way is for one person to write a bit, then the other person takes over and writes some more, then gives it back. Or both write part of a story, read each other's work, then decide what parts to keep and change, sort of jig-sawing the two together.

I think it's definitely do-able, provided you aren't uncomfortable writing what will surely be a vast majority of porn.

The best way I would say to charge is per page, not per word. Per word can get a bit... Dicey, especially with a heavy dialogue story that requires as much mental effort (In my case at least!) as a heavy description story.

As for new subject matter... Go through FA, SF, IB, SW... Wherever! Just pick a random tag or catergory, and try to write something in there. I've done that a few times with some interesting results.
