As for the policy - Dragoneer has stated that, as long as the underage character in question is non-human, then it's acceptable.

I've been thinking about it, and an old adage applies to this situation - 'I may not like what you do, but damnit, I'll fight for your right to do it.' In this situation, I'm applying it to cub art, but it can apply to a lot of things.

I always like StickDevil's work, but to be honest I didn't much care for his attitude and such. Meh, plenty of other smut artists to watch instead.

It's funny that people are taking the moral definition of this argument only. Personally, it doesn't really bother me if the artists in question draw it.

What's bothering me right now is that there are people drawing it, posting it and then getting admins saying, "Take it down or we'll ban it... No, wait... that'll take effort. Forget it, it can stay, I guess...."

Because, while they're changing the wording of it now, it USED to say it's not allowed at all. So, my gripe is that they're changing their tunes in the guise of "trying to accomodate everyone" when they're simply doing it because they don't wanna piss anyone else off.

That's why I'm leaving FA. Not because of the rights of others being trampled, or because "child-like porn" is being allowed. But, because people are just whining so fucking much around here, and the admins are just letting it happen, rather than standing up to them and telling them to fuck off and/or follow the rules. If they're not going to enforce THAT rule, what's going to prompt them to enforce copyright rules for their artists? What's going to prompt them to enforce protection against art thieves?

Morality and subject matter don't mean shit to me. Even if it was harmless erotica that was being fought against, I'd stand in the same spot I am now. These guys are wrong to do this. And, while the artists that are leaving are possibly being a bit more "holier-than-thou" about it, they do have a point. So, I guess it's goodbye FA. *shrug*

There'll be plenty of other methods to get our art out there, I suppose. I just wish it didn't take lazy admins to do it for some.

Sorry to see you go. I really liked your style, sorry if I didn't comment often enough. I just hope other artists at least wait until the drama subsides before taking the final action, just to be certain it's what they want to do.

I'm glad you decided to let things simmer a bit; one should never make a decision when emotional, and instead give it a bit of time to get a new perspective on things. So long as you do that, it doesn't matter which way you go, at least your decision will be one made in logic rather than emotion.

Not goin' myself, because there's not much point. I don't really feel affected by all this. I don't draw pr0n often, and when I do, it's normally pretty softcore compared to some stuff out there. And my character isn't me: so if she gets "sexually exposed", doesn't mean I am. I tend not to use direct models for my work in ANY art, I just usually work with stuff I can recollect and sort out an image in my mind that I'll put onto paper. A lot of my work is based on movies, music, video games and cartoons... So no one actually gets hurt in the production of my artwork.

My overall stance in the cub porn thing is... it's drawn, it's fantasy, it's not real, it doesn't hurt anyone. And drawing something doesn't mean the artist endorses it. I've drawn my own damn character getting murdered - do I condone murder? No way. It's disturbing that people would draw cub porn for the sole purpose of jacking material, but at the same time, filters much?

Yeah, I think I've ranted enough. XD
