I know I surprised a few people with a trip to CFD and thought I should probably explain the story of how it happened. I had a trip booked to Amsterdam since as work screwed up with my holiday for EF meaning I couldn't go I had a spare week of holiday time left over. The dates for CFD were announced and happened to match up with my trip dates. So being as I was planning on seeing
ezwolf and
tigertom anyway since they both live in the land of the Moonspeakers. We ended up with a random idea to drive to CFD.
Now aside from LHR's inability to operate bag drop off in Terminal 5. Took me 45 minutes to drop one bag as I'd already checked in online. Security took less than two minutes I was a bit miffed at that. It was a good flight out there, however I was mildly concerned at the complete lack of any information that was useful at Schipol once out of the airport and into the station. The information signs were useless! Makes you really appreciate what you have at home such as listing all the stations a train stops at on the departure boards, the destination of the train and other such useful things to know in advance. Hell Waterloo has a 'fastest train to ....' sign. Surely it would be useful to tell people that want to go to Amsterdam itself what the fastest train is and keep them off the local services? For that matter why isn't there an Airport Express?
Anyway, aside from that it was a nice event to go to. Lots of faces with the same question of 'Why are you here? I didn't know you were coming!' Nice amount of drinks in the suiting room as well which was so nice, a few fans dotted around, although some I seem to think were brought by people themselves for drying their own heads? Bounced around in Silver for a fair few hours. I'm also sure I said I'd email
coyotesnack but can't remember what it was about so if anyone knows why... let me know so I can send the email. It was probably why I was there in the first place, but might be about somethingelse. I don't know, my mind works in strange ways sometimes.
