MFF and Studio Update
First and foremost I'd like to apologize for my neglect to this account, it's notes, comments and shouts. I very much appreciate all of them that I get and it's a nice surprise to log in and find people wanting to purchase blanks, collaborate on future projects, and to facilitate the things I'd like to move forward and do with my repertoire of future blanks. So much support, and I've done so horribly staying motivated!
On that note, I'd like to offer a more elaborate explanation on my lack of luster for costume making and creation. It's been hard. I don't want to lean heavily on personal feelings regarding past clientele interaction, but it lent a part in my doubts as a crafter and costume maker. I learned a lot from those interactions and am far pickier with those I work with on costumes, as well as with my traditional art. Both forms of art I love dearly and want to feel appreciated for in my efforts.
Being a strict supplier of blanks for others can quickly take the wind out of ones sails when it comes to creating more complete masks and costumes. Sadly, that seems all I've been able to do for a long while now... so much so that I discontinued advertising the availability of blanks for others to have fun in creating their own visions. For this, I am sorry. :c Blanks are still available and if/when any are not available, I will clearly advertise that they are not.
As a means to refuel my creativity in costume making I am working on a gryphon partial. After wearing one of the eagle blanks for a period of time at Rainfurrest 2013, there are small changes I'll be making in the inner padding of them so that jaw movement is more comfortable, while making visibility clearer for the wearer. Once his/her ears are attached I'll be creating a tail to go with the mask and making the partial available for purchase with the option to have gloves and possibly even footpaws. Yes, I've been working on those too! Learning new things from other local crafters and my experience at Rainfurrest opened my eyes as well as motivated me to push forward. I also plan on doing test periods with each blank now, so that people are more satisfied with the way they fit and articulate as well.
Funds from the sale of this personal project will be applied toward funding the expansion of studio space. I look forward to the possibilities that more space will create for the studio and it's productivity and hope that others do too. Currently, my work space only provides a chemical pouring station, leaving things like fur storage and a space to cut material difficult to find. Essentially, I live in a guest bedroom with a small studio space just outside of it. With expanded space, I can properly store things, relieving the stress of piles of boxes surrounding my work space.
It's amazing how detrimental feeling crowded in a work space can feel. I am really hoping that this expansion happens quickly and creates the relief I hope it will. Meanwhile, I am going to continue trying to attend conventions when and if I can. Through the amazing generosity of a friend, I'll be attending Midwest Fur Fest and meeting even more of you amazing people! I won't likely have any masks with me, but I'll be sitting the artist alley and peddling my other skills and spending the evenings being as social as possible for a person of my reclusive nature. Please don't be as shy as me, and come say hello! I don't as of yet have any way to identify me aside from my name...perhaps an MFF meme will be in order once the convention is EVEN CLOSER THAN IT ALREADY IS.
I am very much looking forward to seeing the windy city and experiencing this convention that so many have good things to say about. :} Onward with progression!

*mock flexes* STRONGEST OF STRONG! (At least trying!)
I am hoping to open up blank production soon. I've been sitting on the last of my resin supply for far too long and am overdue to replenish it. What more appropriate way than by taking orders for blanks?
If you're interested, I do take emails and still accept blanks on a case-by-case basis after establishing deadlines and such. The reason I am 'closed' is to reduce stress caused by having too much in production and not enough personal time. At the moment, I am nearly clear of orders, so the possibility of snagging one before the holidays is possible...if that interests you. ^^ Spyn0ff[at]gmail.com
Also checked out your dragonborn partial work and it's looking flippin amazing! So much copper and scales and MAGIC. <3 You're doing an amazing job and it's really inspiring! <3
